About Erin, Cawthorn, DO

Erin Cawthorn, DO is a Virginia Beach native. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia, where she earned a degree in Cognitive Science. She went on to attend Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine at Virginia Tech, where she graduated with Honors. She completed her residency training at Rutgers Health Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey, where she served as Clinic Chief.

Dr. Cawthorn chose Obstetrics and Gynecology because she loves the opportunity to help women through some of the most pivotal moments in their lives. She has a special interest in adolescent gynecology and enjoys building relationships with patients while helping them feel comfortable and empowered in their healthcare.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cawthorn enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their dog, Milo. You can usually find her perusing Goodreads for her next book, trying new restaurants with her family, or watching UVA sports.
