Elizabeth Bowes, CNM
Nurse Midwife
About Elizabeth Bowes, CNM
Elizabeth was born in Hampton Roads and raised around the world as part of a Navy family. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer.
Her journey into Midwifery began with the birth of her first child—a transformative experience that inspired her to become a Childbirth Educator, Doula, and Certified Lactation Counselor while caring for her five children. Motivated by a passion to improve maternal and infant health, Elizabeth pursued a nursing degree from ODU followed by advanced training in Nurse-Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University.
Since 2020, she has worked in Antepartum and Labor & Delivery at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She is now thrilled to join WomanCare Centers as a Nurse-Midwife, where she looks forward to accompanying families during some of life’s most meaningful moments while providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Outside of her professional life, Elizabeth enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children, sailing, walking her Golden Retriever, playing volleyball, staying active with OrangeTheory Fitness, gardening, and playing board games with friends.
