About Danielle Ybarro Scott, CNM
Danielle Ybarra Scott is a dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife with a strong foundation in high-risk labor and delivery, clinical instruction, and lactation consulting. With over five years of experience in maternal and newborn health, she provides comprehensive, evidence-based care centered on compassion, education, and respect. She offers full-scope midwifery services, including prenatal, birth, postpartum, and newborn care. Previously, she worked as a Lactation Consultant at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and as a Registered Nurse in several respected hospitals, specializing in labor and delivery.
Before entering nursing, Danielle proudly served in the United States Navy for nearly a decade, achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. Her military service sharpened her leadership, communication, and instructional skills—tools she continues to use daily in both her clinical and educational work. Danielle is the mother of a 12-year-old son and an infant daughter. She and her husband, who actively serves in the Navy, have been married for 16 years. As both a veteran and a military spouse, she brings empathy, resilience, and firsthand understanding to the care of military families. A native of El Paso, Texas, Danielle is deeply connected to her Mexican roots and is passionate about creating culturally affirming care spaces. As a bilingual provider and trained Spanish interpreter, she ensures her patients feel seen, heard, and informed. She takes great pride in educating patients about their bodies and experiences and believes in making time to truly listen and answer questions. Danielle holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse Midwifery from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and an active member of ACNM and AWHONN.
