About Annie Kownack, CNM

Annie is a proud Virginia Beach native and is excited to work with The Group for Women and provide care for women in her hometown. After graduating nursing school from Old Dominion University, she worked as a pediatric ICU nurse for 5 years before realizing her real passion was women’s health. She pursued a dual degree from Georgetown University to practice as a Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. After graduation she worked in northern Virginia for a couple years as a Midwife before moving home to be closer to family.

She loves all aspects of women’s health but especially loves helping women navigate pregnancy and labor.

When she is not working you can find her spending time with friends and family, traveling, at the beach, or snuggling her dog!
